Frequently Asked Questions
Balloon Fabric, Cameroon or Parapak
We use various fabrics on our wingsuits, with thicker and more sturdy fabric in reenforced areas such as the knees and booties. The wings and body are made of lighter ZP Baloon fabric. As an option, we offer the possibitly of the enture suit being made of the more sturdy (though slightly heavier) Parapak material. Especially for skydiving, this is a recommendable option to deal with the additional wear and tear of airplane floors and repeated packing.
For basejumping we now also offer the new Cameroon Ultra Light fabric. This slick fabric has good low drag characteristics and is 25% lighter than normal Zero-P. The fabric also is more durable and sturdy.
Performance Foam
Phoenix-Fly now offer performance foam in the sleeve of all products.
This pre-formed leading edge was designed for the Vampire line of products and has now made it's way into all other products. The foam makes sure the leading edge is always rounded and smooth, combined with the form-fitting shape of the arm-sleeve meaning sharp flying due to the low-drag characteristics of our suits.
The foam also takes some pressure of the arm, and gives the wing a more solid feel in flying.
B.A.S.E. Pouch
For our range of suits suitable for basejumping, we offer the option of the B.A.S.E. Pouch. This is a special secondairy pilotchute pocket, which houses the PC to allow for easier location and pull during basejumps.
This option is not needed for skydiving, and is recommended to strictly be used in a BASE enviroment and/or solo skydiving practice for such.
Spare Arm Cutaway Cable
PF offers a special cutaway system on the armwings for backup and safety reasons. In case of loss we offer a spare set of cutaway cables for sale.
Backfly Inlets
All our wingsuits have ram-air airlocked inlets, as originaly designed by Phoenix-Fly. On suits specificly designed for acrobatic flying, we also offer backfly inlets. This puts added sets of inlets on the back of the suit, allowing for inflation of the wings in all orientations.
Loose Fit / Winter Clothing
For those that also jump during colder weather, and want an extra few inches for thicker clothing worn under your wingsuit, we have this added option.
Never add additional space to the measurements yourself, to prevent suits being to baggy.
Cut In Laterals
When used in combination with low drag wingsuit(BASE)rigs such as the Adrenalin Base Hyrbid LD2 featuring cut-in laterals, we offer a special cut on the V4 featuring a tighter fit with the rig.
No cutaway
Some basejumpers seem to prefer their wingsuits to be as optimized and free of additional features as possible. Though we recommend the feature on our suits, wedo offer the option of ordering a wingsuit with a clean leading edge without armwing cutaway.
BASE soles
Through a partnership with FiveTen, we are also able to offer BASE soles for the Viper and V5. Giving you extra grip on exit.

Phoenix-Fly uses a courier for shipping.

Dealers
Its possible to order direct via Phoenix-Fly or go through one of our dealers.
A dealer assists you in taking measurements, and functions as the contact with Phoenix-Fly. If you ordered through a dealer, refer to him/her for status updates on your order.
Manufacturing process
Every suit is hand cut, hand tailored to your measurements.
The process we use involves the use of hot-knives to singe the edges of seams to prevent fraying of fabric. Due to the making process, it is possible that a slight smell of burning/smoke is still noticable in your suit on delivery.
Cleaning of a wingsuit
If you want to give your wingsuit a wash, put it in a laundry bag, and put it in a machine on gentle/cold cycle. A small bit of detergent is possible, but not needed.
Do not spin-dry or use any form of heating during the process.
After washing, it is possible to give a wingsuit a thin coat of ScotchGuard or similar protective product to keep the suit clean.
